This year we aim to provide ambitious students with the opportunity to join our team for a 12 month period. We understand the importance of gaining the right work experience during your studies. You will need to be prepared to get involved from the start and take on responsibility while meeting new challenges. In return we offer to fully immerse you within our business and support your ongoing development.

The HR department’s responsibilities cover the full HR activity life cycle, recruiting employees with the right skills and application, training, personal and career development, reward, developing HR policies and working practices. HR are also responsible for the physical environment, facilities and health and safety.

The Sales Operations department work with sales team members to coordinate sales strategies and tools. The sales operations are a combination of company procedures, business activities and strategic sales implementations within a company consistent with company goals and objectives. As a whole, sales operations help the company reach business targets and financial goals.

The Marketing department is about communicating the value of our product, service and brand to customers and consumers. The marketing department has overall responsibility for growing revenue, increasing market share and contributing to company growth and profitability. It promotes the business and drives sales of our products and services as well as provides the necessary research to identify the company’s target customers and other audiences.

Network Funding (Commercial Finance)

The department is responsible for the commercial month end, general expenses consolidations, calculating the funding needs, calculating all the risk provisions of the company and managing all the business units of the company. Management accounting is also the department in charge of creating and manager the forecast plans for RCI and validating any pricing, new business or products.

The Information Systems department is broad and integrated with the whole organisation. It covers a wide range of responsibilities such as; making available a suite of computer applications that enhances the ability of RCI Financial Services Limited, to integrate these applications so that information moves smoothly and accurately, to understand the business requirements of all functions to continually improve on existing processes and applications. Monitor evolving technology and business practice and recommend investment in new systems where appropriate and support computer applications, hardware and communications to both internal departments and to external customers and suppliers.

Head of Fleet is responsible for the development of finance and services business to small and medium business enterprises. Co-ordinating all departments including Sales, Marketing, Operations and in partnership with motor manufacturer partners. The role is to provide analytical and administrative support for the Head of Fleet.

The Master of Social Work provides graduates with an internationally recognised qualification in social work and is accredited by the Australian Association of Social Workers.

During the course students will develop knowledge and expertise in:

  • assessment and intervention
  • political economy and policy making

  • theoretical and practice framework that incorporate child wellbeing and mental health contexts

Students also complete 1000 hours of supervised field placements.

NOTE: Students are required to attend compulsory on-campus sessions each semester. This includes a requirement to attend sessions during Orientation Week. All commencing students will need to ensure they are available to attend.

Career outcomes

This course is designed for graduates from other disciplines seeking a qualification in social work. It is not suitable for qualified social workers seeking additional postgraduate study.

This innovative course is designed to deliver graduates who can work in a variety of government, non-government, and not-for-profit sectors, either in direct support or outreach services, community development or policy and social advocacy positions.

Professional recognition

Graduates are eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.

Places in this course are limited by quota. Applicants are therefore advised to apply early.

The Master of Social Work – Qualifying consists of 15 units and can be studied full-time (two years) or part-time (four years). Students undertaking the part-time option may complete Summer Program offerings to accelerate their course completion.

The course includes a minimum 1000 hours of field placements supervised by a professional social worker. These placements are undertaken over three practice units.

This course will be offered in 2018 however the course structure is currently under review.

    From Route 30 Westbound

    Travel about 4 miles to reach the center of Bryn Mawr. Turn right onto Morris Avenue; a gas station will be on your right and a Starbucks on your left, and you will have just passed a Barnes and Noble and a Staples.
    Follow Morris Avenue as it curves left under the train track bridge then bears right. Get into the left lane (a turn only lane). Make a left onto Montgomery Avenue. Get in the right lane. Make a right onto Roberts Road. Buses follow to the blinking traffic light and make the right into the driveway at the bottom of the hill. All others, continue to the traffic light and make a right onto New Gulph Road. Make the first right into the parking lot, directly across from the Lower Merion Baptist Church.

    After parking, follow the walkway down to Schwartz Gymnasium, Applebee Field and the tennis courts.The stairway next to Applebee Field leads up to Shillingford Field.

    From points South or if traveling on Route 30 Eastbound

    From I-95 approaching Chester, take I-476 North to Exit 13 (former exit 5)–Villanova–and follow Route 30 East.Continue to second traffic light and make left onto Route 320 North. Route 320 turns left at second light–do not make this turn–continue through intersection onto Spring Mill Road. At the next light (Old Gulph Road) make a right. Go to second traffic light*. Continue through the intersection and make the first right into the driveway.

    After parking, follow the walkway down to Schwartz Gymnasium, Applebee Field and the tennis courts.The stairway next to Applebee Field leads up to Shillingford Field.

    Whitemarsh Boat Club (Rowing)

    WBC is on a three-acre riverfront property, the Hines Rowing Center (HRC), in Whitemarsh Township at 801 Washington Street, just east and downstream from the Borough of Conshohocken in Pennsylvania. This is 10 miles upriver from Boathouse Row in Philadelphia.

    The HRC can be reached from the nearby major routes I-76 and I-476. The major bridge through Conshohocken, the Fayette Street Bridge, is where people on the southwest side of the river will cross over to the northeast side. The property is on Washington Street, which parallels the Schuylkill River on its east side and parallels the SEPTA R-6 regional train line. Please see the maps.

    From the Pennsylvania Turnpike

    Take exit 24 (Valley Forge) and follow signs to I-76 East. Follow I-76 East to exit 24 (Gulph Mills) onto Route 320 South. At the second light, make a left onto Old Gulph Road and follow to third light. Go through the intersection to the stop sign (Airdale Road). Turn right and follow. The School of Social Work is on the right. Turn into the driveway and follow to parking lot.

    From Center City Philadelphia to the Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research via Route 30 westbound

    Follow Route 30 west through Ardmore, Haverford and Bryn Mawr. After the Rosemont Shopping Center and the McDonald s on the right is a three-way lighted intersection with Airdale Road.

    Turn right onto Airdale and proceed to next light at Montgomery Avenue. Continue on Airdale Road past Ashbridge Park on the left. Turn left at the entrance to the Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research. Follow the drive around to the parking lot in back of the school.

    From Route 30 eastbound to the Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research

    Follow Route 30 (Lancaster Avenue) east through Villanova for about 2 miles until you reach Airdale Road, where there is a three-way light. Take a left on Airdale Road (before the McDonald’s). After two blocks on Airdale, there is a light at Montgomery Avenue.

    Continue on Airdale past Ashbridge Park on your left. Turn left at the entrance to the Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research. Follow the drive around to the parking lot in back of the school.

    INTERNATIONAL ONLINE EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (EAP)
    EAPs in the New Millennium This online course presents a conceptual framework involved with Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) from a global perspective. Essential EAP components, policy issues along with relevant legal issues, EAP clinical assessment, responding to critical incidents and evaluation methodologies will be included. COURSE II: EAP Optional Services This online course presents an overview of current EAP services offered in addition to traditional counseling and problem resolution. It is important for EAP practitioners to be familiar with all of these services as the workplace requests them. EAPs expanded their services as the market demanded. This course will focus on the role of the EAP dealing with substance abuse in the workplace, workplace violence and sexual harassment, domestic violence in the workplace, child care services, elder care services as well as financial and legal consultation. Lastly, it will discuss wellness programs and new technologies in delivering EAP services. Visit here for more information.

    FORENSIC SOCIAL WORK
    Forensic social work is the application of social work skills, knowledge and principles within the context of the legal system. It is a new and exciting social work specialization which is growing in prominence as more social workers are integrated into, and promoted within, the court system and the agencies that serve it. The program leading to the Certificate in Forensic Social Work is designed to provide the knowledge and skills required for social workers to practice effectively and to advance to leadership positions within the specialization.

    While academically rigorous, the Forensic Social Work Certificate Program is designed to be easily accessible to the social worker who is working fulltime. A social worker with no background in this area could expect to complete the program within a year. Those social workers who have already satisfied certain course requirements will complete the program in less time. Visit here for more information.

    The program consists of successful completion of the following components:

    (1) Social Work and the Law

    (2) Clinical Forensic Social Work

    (3) Seminar in Forensic Work

    (4) Skills Lab: Testimony and Working with Attorneys

    (5) Work, field or volunteer experience in a forensic setting.

    Components (1) and (2) are 3 credit classes in the regular MSW curriculum. Together they constitute the basic introduction to the field of forensic social work. They will be offered at a special rate to Certificate participants, who will be assigned to evening or Saturday sections. Any Certificate participant, who has already taken and passed either course within the past 3 years, with a grade of B or better, need not repeat the course.

    After completion of (1) and (2), the participant may enroll in the Seminar in Forensic Social Work. The content will cover certain basic areas (e.g. forensically appropriate child interviews, domestic violence, and offender psychology) in greater depth than could be achieved in the introductory classes, with time for those areas of particular interest to the participants. The Skills Lab consists of 2 full days of training on testifying in court and working effectively with lawyers. These days will be scheduled at the convenience of the participants, but will most likely occur on successive weekends ( e.g. 2 Saturdays).

    The volunteer experience is required only of those participants who have never had either a field placement or work experience in a forensic setting. The Office of Continuing Professional Education will assist in locating appropriate sites for those participants. Forensic settings include but are not limited to: State s Attorney s Offices, the Public Defender s Office, the Courts, Child Advocacy Centers, Domestic Violence service organizations, Victims Services organizations, Court Medical Services, private law firms, Department of Corrections, Department of Juvenile Services, Department of Social Services, Patuxent Institution, Perkins State Hospital, Police Departments, and certain hospital and private settings.

    A social worker with no education or background in forensic social work could complete the Certificate program in one year by successfully completing the following abbreviated and intense courses through the Office of Continuing Professional Education:

    • Social Work and the Law
    • Clinical Forensic Social Work
    • Seminar in Forensic Social Work, Skills Lab, and volunteer experience.
